Pre-Conference Workshop Day
Tuesday, July 26
Workshop A
10:00AM - 12:00PM
Understanding the Role of Non-Coding RNA in Transcriptional Regulation
Our understanding of non-coding RNA has evolved where we now appreciate it is implicit in controlling gene expression by attaching to coding RNA, along with certain proteins, to break down coding RNA, thereby inhibiting future transcription and ultimately translation into protein. Non-coding RNA may also recruit proteins for histone modification to turn genes “on” or “off.” The potential to transform this into a therapeutic has however thus far remained untapped.
This workshop will enable you to:
- Appreciate how non-coding transcripts are key regulators of transcription and leverage their therapeutic potential
- Explore a variety of RNA modifications and their therapeutic impact

Workshop B
1:00PM - 3:00PM
Targeting Transcription Factors: Understanding the Impact of Your Drug Candidate
The comparatively reduced signal from DNA binding against histone modification has presented challenges in identifying and quantifying those changes, limiting our understanding of the impact of our candidate drug
This workshop will enable you to:
- Explore novel methods in capturing changes to binding proteins on DNA changes pre & post treatment
- Leverage these methods to quantify DNA binding changes to inform the impact of candidate drug
